Lacemaker gathers the morning dew
stitches and fiddles and tats her design
round and round bright threads she weaves
catches the light but with others in mind
dreams of the mayflies and sweet butterfly
plans on the beetles and sucks them quite dry
her artistry done she ties the last knot
then waits in the shadows to see what is caught.
