Wonderful poem that links footprints to bits and pieces of our memories over the years.
As we get older, we do leave a mark behind - footprints if you will - and even as they fade away, they'll always linger and be a reminder of what we once were.

Oh, I saw the feller as plain as day;
I don’t miss much is what they always say,
and that’s him there, the third from the right,
though on the day he was a much worse sight -
he wore a sinister balaclava
and stood at the time a good deal farther,
but I did not hear him speak words or shout
so much that I am beginning to doubt.
