Wonderful poem that links footprints to bits and pieces of our memories over the years.
As we get older, we do leave a mark behind - footprints if you will - and even as they fade away, they'll always linger and be a reminder of what we once were.

of taking a rain check as though
being rejected has some affinity
with meteorological examinations
of precipitation and being aware
of rainfall figures and snowfall
equates to postponement of life
until some unspecified and sunnier date.
