My Longest Holidays
Bodhisattwa Parekh

When I was just twenty years old, I took my debit card with me after my final exam at graduation level and went on a long-term wandering from village to village to know the simplicity and poverty. My luggage was light.

After a day's train travelling, I reached a village named 'Aura'. It was so far from town. I built a portable camp and bio-toilet there for my personal use. After evening, I did a mini-seminar with them. Gave advice for settlement if they raised the issue of dispute. So, they called me "Little Monk'.

I settled there peacefully. Six months went happily.

I thought of buying a house there for living the rest of my life.
After five months, I received a letter. My maternal uncle passed away.

I returned home again. After seeing my relatives' mournful faces, I decided to stay in my house with our joint family.

My Favourite Fictional Character
Bodhisattwa Parekh

I have many favourite fictional characters. But the sister character of the 'Sister' movie is my favourite fictional character. Now, I explain the reason behind this. There was a small and poor church. Only a sister lived there. She took care of sixteen orphan children. They lived there. Their prayers, education, entertainment – everything is done under her supervision. Every student was happy. They were the ribs of her. They were different ages. Three years a child, eighteen years a student. So, there were a few relationships built. That made the story realistic.Once, a gang of evil power came there. Their intention is to grab the nation. They took shelter in this serene church. They used those children as slaves.

That sister understood that the nation's independence was in big danger. So she sent a messenger, one of those children, to the area commander, who is also a great patriot and helped a lot for those children.Sister loved those children like a true. But the national interest was her first priority. They knew a child went to meet the commander. Who was that guy?

They began an enquiry. They tortured her, the sister. She tolerated those for the sake of the nation. Then repped her. She remained silent. Then killed all children. Then the army appeared. Her purpose served. Criminals, all, were arrested or dead.

This was a realistic character that fulfilled a real purpose. The end is very tragic. I love this fictional character.

Will they carry?
Bodhisattwa Parekh

Today is that day when I take 50 children's clothes as the gifts of Christmas. They are too poor. We called them street children. As I try to buy for the maximum number of children, I buy cheap-quality dresses for them. But those are colourful. They, those children, become very happy to see these. A few embrace these dresses. I also find some happiness in seeing their joyful faces. These children are sacred.

I reckon that I shouldn't exploit their simplicity. So I withdraw some extra amount of money to buy some gorgeous dresses, especially in this year.I buy costly dresses. I distribute them.

Everybody told me, "It is good, but last year's dress was more beautiful." I understand they are very simple. Quality doesn't matter to them. They love colours and brightness. Will they carry this type of clean mindset their whole life?

Those Unforgettable Moments
Bodhisattwa Parekh

After the sunset,
I sit on the balcony in my armchair.
I see those fireflies caught between dusk and moonbeams.
If you see these scenes here,
You become overwhelmed.
So I buy a tiny house in this remote place.
I invite you to witness these scenarios.
I hope you will accept my cordial invitation.

The Golden Dream
Bodhisattwa Parekh

Suddenly a rain of ideas begins from the skies.
I collect them in my mind gleefully.
I can read those ideas!
I call them one by one.
They come from their waiting room.
Calmly, I begin to write.
I finish them so quickly, unbelievably.
I become excited, wake up, and find myself in my bed.

My Source Of A Good Day
Bodhisattwa Parekh

My day begins with a cup of fresh Darjeeling tea.
That should be green tea.
It is truly refreshing.
And it gives me the strength
To fight hard all day.
It doesn't only boost my energy;
It also gives me a happy mood.
Good morning, everyone.

Yet Unseen But Hopeful
Bodhisattwa Parekh

It is not yet time to completely despair.

That is the hint that resounds in the sky and air.

We want a worthy leader.

Who will inspire us to do something new?

That person will show the correct path; the path of a developed nation will be formed.

But where is he?

He is nowhere to be seen.

Yet my mind says that he will come; don't be frustrated.
