Looking for well-written stories with gay characters to win gift points!
LGBT Short Story Contest


I can appreciate a nice poll, love poem or coming out essay as much as the next person, but the gay/lesbian genre seems to be overflowing with them. For this contest, I am looking for well-written short stories with gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgendered characters.

Stories can be any genre! Show me a mystery with a lesbian slueth, or a western about a gay sherrif. I'm not looking for stories that are soley about being gay, but for stories with solid plots (and a genuine beginning, middle and end) with at least one central gay character.

WINNERS!
In addition to being enjoyable reads, the top three stories had interesting multi-dimensional characters. These stories didn't revolve around the characters' sexual orientation, but integrated their sexuality into the plot. At first glance, there may not seem to be much happening in the winning tale, but the dialogue had me thinking about family dynamics long after I finished it. The second and third place stories placed same-gender loving characters in places I would not have expected.
