While I wish I could help more, it does seem to be a problem with your device, which is no longer supported by Google, the device maker.
All the same, I'll keep an eye out for anyone else having problems like you are describing. So far, you are literally the only one... which unfortunately seems to point to it being a problem on your specific device and not a problem with the site itself.
