 |  Create a parody as a tribute in celebrating 16 years of Writing.Com. |
 Did you ever sing a song, but couldn't help changing the lyrics into something funny? Well, here is your chance to create a parody, and possibly be rewarded for doing so. A parody is a spoof or humorous re-interpretation of a known movie or song. For example, the "Scary Movie" films are a spoof of the "Scream" trilogy, whereas Weird Al Yankovic is well known for his wide variety of musical parodies. Below are a few examples I found on Writing.Com that will show you what I mean.
 Rules and Guidelines We're celebrating Writing.Com's 16th birthday. Your parody must be Writing.Com themed. You may begin posting on September 1, 2016. You must give me the song title and the artist name if you are doing a musical parody. If you aren't familiar with music you may do a parody of something else, but include the title and author to the original work. Please post entry by {bitem: ######} format. If you are not upgraded, you may post a poem directly in the forum but its rating must NOT exceed 13+. All posts that are submitted in the bitem format cannot exceed an 18+ rating. If you do not know how to do that then please see, "The illustrated guide to linking"  . Please state the title of what you are doing a parody of in the subject line of your post. There is a limit of one entry per person. New items only, please. No edits are allowed to the entry once the item has been posted in the forum. All entries must be in by 11:59:59 pm Writing.Com time on September 31st. Any entries posted after that time and date will automatically be eliminated. Song suggestions...
