The Daily Rant

I work for a place that is family-owned. There are some great things that come from those types of businesses. I get food for free, for one thing.

But there are things that make me mad, too.

I don't get a lunch break. I don't get breaks at all, really. And my boss keeps saying things that insinuate the following: If I smoked, I could take breaks.

After the huge lunch rush (which can sometimes last for 3 hours), the other two women I work with (my boss is one of them) go into the back to smoke. I stay out in the front and deal with the stragglers or try to clean up and prepare for the afternoon rush.

Every time someone needs a day off, I'm pretty much the only person who can fill in for them. I don't mind, on the one hand, because I really, really need the money. On the other hand, I feel like I'm constantly working!

Thank God this week I didn't have to work for anyone else. After today, I'll have 4 days off! That's if I survive today.

Sometimes I feel SO stressed.
