Recreating the Wheel Contest

Man, I wish I could give you a public review on this! It is such an exceptional idea! Not only is it a great exercise in letter-writing, but it encourages the students to cultivate the virtue of gratitude. We all need more practice in telling people why we love them! What an excellent senior project!!!!! (I have had my seniors do a yearbook, but I think I'll add an additional project for the next one, or maybe incorporate it into the yearbook???!)

Adaptation: Have young kids do one "Because I Love You letter instead of ten. (or five for mid-grades). This would also make a great Confirmation or Bar Mitzvah project . The topic could also be adapted to other units being studied- "You are My Hero because..." You Changed the World by...", etc. (But Because I Love You is my favorite!)
