Rating and Reviewing Discussion

I love reviewing but I hate rating. Reviewing requires thinking and writing - things I love to do. Rating involves anxiety about whether I'm being fair and whether I'm hurting somebody's feelings, and whether I'm commiting "rating inflation," and whether I'm being consistent between one review and the next - things I hate. I'd love it if we had an option to review without rating. How do others feel?
