Re Re Re challenge
I am fascinated by different cultures,countries rituals.When I left school I wanted to see the world,but the world didnt want see me; not with my Rhodesian passport,so I
saw what world I had Africa not all of it from Zambia down,all in its own a vast tapestry
of vibrant cultures and history
When I was selling leather belts and sandals I had made, I met a man from Israel,
on arrival he could only speak yiddish and Hebrew. He built up a wholesale business, though we did a lot of business, I enjoyed more learning about Israel and Zionism.
Many years later a different city whilst doing tele sales a young jewish guy told me had just finished his internship as a Dr I joked that he was now ready to make big money, to which he replied it would be four years before he could open a practice.Two years in the south african army, two years in the israeli army. I asked him why the israeli army he told me he was a Zionist and of course his father would pay for his practice if he went.
All that got me into reading jewish authors.
In Durban working on the docks maritime security, well a gang walk watch,the pay
was less than a dollar a day I did it for two years because I loved it, not the work,
but the work the meeting of the people especially Japanese who couldnt speak
english, so I learnt what Japanese I needed.
My life has been blessed and enriched by other cultures, it never ceases to amaze me how many people have led sheltered lives.
I could write a book on the experiences hoe intresting it would be Ito others I dont know, Nuff said back to writing.
