Knowing what you believe and why is at least as important as the believing itself. |
Wow. That is an absolutely horrible experience. I can definitely understand your viewpoint considering the problems you've seen with immigrants. Despite the fact that my family is *technically* an immigrant family, I often find it hard to consider myself within that category. I see myself as an established U.S. citizen who votes, goes to college, and will speak English primarily in my home. Because of this, it is so easy to blame a particular culture or type of people for bringing trouble to the U.S. One of my younger sisters was involved in a car accident where an illegal without a driver's license was still driving a van full of heavy equipment. I can tell you that I still haven't come to terms with that fact and it is very hard for me to not just blame all the Mexicans for causing such trouble, as evidence seems to show. ** Image ID #1311761 Unavailable ** ** Animated Images For Use By Premium+ Only ** Check out my wonderful mentees!
