Definitely. Writing the backstory was in no way a waste of time. I have never felt that way. I have learned so much - about the world, characters, magic structures, the writing craft - Especially the last. I now feel that I'm ready to return and actually succeed this round!

And yes, there may come a day where I publish the backstory too.
