Konstantin Stanislavski is the Russian legend who founded "the method" for acting, before his death in 1938. His teachings are still valid and widely used; they are also adapted to American theater.
After looking through an old book that has tidbits of his method, I think learning something about this method and understanding the challenges of the actors and the stage would help playwrights when writing their plays.
