Well I've come with a few more ideas for the story.

To merge more the universes, there could be that Blaze was only a false name and this weirdo was really Samael ("Poison of God"), one of the oldest and most powerful Deamons who ever had existed, he escaped before Gabriel sealed all the other deamons and lived his life in Earth, by fighting people and enjoying the battles.

He became Blake's nemesis, and he showed to be able to stand up against him (despite Blaze was only playing). He saw the potential in him and in some moment offered him to be his servant, which Blake rejected of course. Then he decided to kill him before he got stronger. He encounters with Seth and Nostory and they plan something to get rid of Blake, Joana, Jak and Jasmine (taking advantage of their love problems you mentioned).

The plan they have, I leave it up to you, but that's one idea. Blaze could show supernatural powers he hadn't in the original stories. The idea of having Cinthya as another enemy it could work also, an evil giantess who agrees to destroy everything, controlled by Blaze exclusively (Nostory and Seth could sabotage this to betray him)

About Joana turning in a Giantess, there are two posssibilities: Joana gets a secondary effect of the substance and she becomes able to grow at will (and shrink down but only to normal size). Her growth would be slower than Jasmine's because it's artificial.

She also could be still normal and in some moment Blake and her decided to inject her the growth solution again to make her grow.
