Write a Story, With a List Contest

Well now,

I don't know that the list exactly tells the story....
I figure I'd do that myself.....
but the list is certainly part of the story
(or maybe just a red herring)
- a slight distraction from the action...
I tend to think of lists as something rather
like the laundry hanging out back.
One knows it's there all right, and ran it
through the washer well enough,
but best left unspoken until the final results
are evidently adorning the frame, what?

And that was my entire preamble.
