Sorry it's been a while *Smile*

Ever wondered what a life less ordinary might be like? Often it's an unexpected challenge that acts as the catalyst for your protagonist's story to unfold. While this doesn't have to be earth-shattering, it can be fun to let your imagination run wild (after all, it's easier to pull back your wildest musings, than it is to urge them on!)

Write

*Bullet* List 5 of your favourite characters (or 5 popular literary characters)

*Bullet* Put them in a typical/normal setting

*Bullet* Write a paragraph that throws them a curveball!

eg.,
Character
Bill Sykes (Oliver Twist)

Setting
Gin Palace, East London.

The Unexpected
Bill stared at Nancy's provocative smile through the pipe smoke. A new sensation pulsed through his veins and mingled with the alcohol. He didn't like it. He wasn't in control. Hit her, an inner voice pleaded. Wipe the smile off her face and drown the love in her eyes. But there was no conviction behind the words. He had to get out of there--away from her. The table trembled as he stood abruptly. He had to leave. Now.

"Bill!" Nancy's small frame hung from his arm with all the weight of a feather. "Don't go out in this mood. Come back. Let me get you some more ale."

He looked down into her desperate, pleading, lost-soul eyes. "We're poison, you and I, and I don't want no poison in my life no more. I've had it with poison. I ain't ever drinking again."
