Bitem or b-item format is simply a way of posting a link for an item in your port. When you create an item, there is an item ID# for that item. To post a link, write {bitem: xxxxxxx}, except that you insert the 7-digit ID where the x's are and use no spaces. Here's what it looks like when you decide to post:

 Invalid Item Open in new Window.
This item number is not valid.
# by Not Available.


That will automatically create a link to that particular item. For more information/clarification/I didn't explain very well, here are a few links that should help.
