“Writing Dot Com” When dawn sculptures a new horizon, Rising to lead this child into the sun, Initializing a never-ending story, Turning my face, my back against the wind, I can only yield to the push and lift. Nothing can dim the light which shines from within. Glorious or dry nights, I maintain ‘n gratitude. ‘Do the best you can till you know better’ Only family could, would, should say that. That’s where you come in. You gave this writer Courage; a potential to believe in me, One butterfly going through the changes. Made reading and writing my deepest needs. An acrostic on writing dot com “The Open Book” Whoever is willing may scrawl on this. If any is afraid, the book is open, Feel free to craft your wildest fantasies. Oh, you may laugh at yourself if you wish; Nobody else gonna do it, really. We sustain ourselves thro the love of family. This piece was inspired by “the open book” in the WDC logo. “Pot of Gold” Stepping onto a brand new path’s difficult. Especially, if the road is rough, it’s tough. But to have a friend carry you every step Kind of glows in shades of deeper meaning. It’s a different world out there with no help. Exile from courage, you called me out Of the rain and placed a rainbow ’n my cloud Right up the spot where its pot of gold rests Between my fingers and its arc showers my world With colors chucked out of a fairytale. God has his ways of growing a green horn, He sent you along to set my quill pen straight. “Write On” We are all the same in all major ways; Running the same race, spinning the same tales, Igniting our passion all as one Triumphing community built on love. Every single article is pure adventure. One solitary fantasy becomes reality. Now a decade strong and yes, rising still. This one is inspired by the WDC slogan “Epiphany” I behold rhythm in the universe. Everything dances like cadence in a verse. There’s an orange over the horizon, Blinding my vision of the ordinary. I step into a world full of auras And I stumble upon a community. The music of the rushing brook lifts me Into another plane where I explode. If I found anything, I found a home; I found a sense of purpose to write on! WDC gave me a sense of purpose as a writer “A Bookshelf and a Quill” A bookshelf and a quill, The picture of the makings of me, Opening of a scene set on a pedestal, Outlines of the plot of a fairytale, Dropped straight into my lap. I have found Utopia And guess what? She called my name She gave more than one reason to write on, Explore all my passions, Erupt on the wings of creativity, And be the author of my own reality. Inspired by the WDC logo “Tomorrow Is Here” Tomorrow is here. Outstretched hearts welcome it. Aint that a beaut? Cos I named it WDC. “Friends in High Places” What was always missing, I found it in you. All my misplaced dots and slashes You melded into something beautiful. I was only trying to be me But you have made me a story. You are so young (only ten years), And already my hero, oh dear! If I should forget what you said or did, I’ll never forget how you made me feel. Happy Birthday, WDC! Yeah, Happy Birthday, my friend in high places. I got so many friends here, I am never really alone “Rat in a Mat” I didn’t just get lucky. I’ll leave luck to men who live on chance. But this wasn’t that Or I am a rat in a mat. What this is, is magic and beyond. It’s like being carried across a threshold To witness a birthing of infinity. This is the hub of writing And I’m glad to be one of the select few, Happy Birthday to you! “Paradise is a Bookshelf” I’ve been looking to find, But could never have imagined I would experience the trove of paradise On the ledge of a bookshelf spotting an open book. It glowed like neon to my muse, My heart, my soul, and body lurched at it. Since that time life’s a waft on a sunny day, Each puff simply takes my breath away! For WDC, my paradise! |
