A sanctuary for weary writers, inky wretches, and aspiring professional novelists. |
Oh the endings! I had about 20 ways I could have ended my first book attempt (which failed by the way, well at least for the time being). My new book, which is coming along nicely with a little extra preparation and a road map, has just one and its the one I wrote the book for. Some readers might hate it, some might love it....but more importantly my story will end the way it was supposed to when I wrote sentence one. You want your readers to love it but you cant please everyone and its only when you step outside the box that you see how great you can be. Imagine when you see the reviews "completely unexpected ending"....and when I write, I write for me..its my story and all writing is, is another source of entertainment so why shouldn't someone die if I want them to? Not sure if I helped any but I know how you feel about picking the right ending. Another way is to write them both and see which one takes the cake =)..happy writing and good luck I want something good to die for, to make it Beautiful to live...Queens Of The Stone Age |
