Thank you for making it all clear. It certainly is a 'reality check' to learn that a publisher can sell my stories without claiming any rights to it. I thought standard practice for ezines was to claim rights to publish them. Now, I see that is not necessary so can use it as a bargaining tool when they send those contracts.

I think it's a very altruistic gesture to incur the significant cost of a self-published e-book for the benefit of writers struggling to break into the business. Kudos to you for your generosity. There are so many sharks out there trying to take advantage of the likes of us.

I will be working hard to get something submitted for this contest. Best of luck to all who also do.
