Having a partner keeps me honest, I guess. It's like being able to pass the idea off on someone else when I can't figure out where to go, and reading what they write absolutely inspires me better than just about anything else. And working with a partner is like having a person to bounce ideas off of that is just as nuts about this story as you are.
