Hi, adewey, and welcome to Writing.Com. As you can see from the responses to your post, we're a friendly lot. I'm sure you you you'll only get out of WDC what you put into it. That said, I totally agree with Nikola~Coffee Drinking Lady!  , this is a wonderful place. It's one that will continue to stimulate your writing urges as long as you let it.WDC is a pretty complex site with lots of features to help you on your writing journey. Some features require a paid membership, but many members find what they need with the free membership. If you need help posting your first story or poem, check out "Create/Edit a Static Item"  . Or, just ask for help.Consider filling out your BioBlock (on your main Portfolio page) and your Biography tab.
