The profile is the bio (more or less) and the back story is exactly what you've done, the story of a pre-novel event. However, the purpose of this prep month is to get to know your novel. So there's no real right or wrong answers, so long as you are exploring your plot, characters and setting.

I'm interpreting the guidelines very loosely myself, and learning a lot along the way. *Smile*
