I completely agree. No one said you only have to be good at one genre of writing.

Seanan McGuire is a great example. She writes amazing stories that are urban fiction - I love both her Intrepid and Octobre Daye series - and then she writes Zombie novels under Mira Grant...BTW if you haven't read the Newsfeed series you are missing some seriously amazing writing, it isnt about the zombies, it is about the world she creates and how she fills it out.
