October Novel Prep Challenge

Just thought I would get an impression of how people feel when they read a story with real places in them...i.e. restaurants, streets, stores, etc.

My story is taking place in a parallel universe (one with witches, vampires and voodoo) and but I want the settings to feel real. So i am planning on using real streets and locations...should I change the names slightly...throw this thought away and make it all up...Or???
