Hello Jazzy and welcome to Writing.Com. Sorry for waiting this long for someone to respond to you. Anyway, you are right. This site has a lot of features and it can be really overwhelming to the new members but that doesn't mean that it's complicated to figure it out .

Your case color is gray which means you don't have any uploaded writing here so you need to start from there. You have a free membership right now and you can upload your work as static items only. To create static item you will check link on the left side of your portfolio create new item and once when you click to it go to static item and fill up all required fields in it. I'm going to link you here another helpful guide book especially for the newbies where you can check out how to do it and how to upload writing from your computer to this site. Please see "Invalid Item"  and "Invalid Item"  for help.

Also, members with payed membership have options to create a whole book items and they have more space in their portfolio. If you are interested about membership differences and benefits please see "Free and Paid Membership Benefits" .

Once when you are done with creating those static items and adding your writing here you will start to receive reviews on it. We also have a place where you can ask someone to review your chapters, you just need to post it here "Please Review" .

Another great way to put attention to your writing is if you introduce yourself in our "Invalid Item" . This is another great spot for a new members where the leaders and mentors of the NAG are guiding you through your first weeks, months...

I wouldn't bug you anymore with other links on the site because I don't want to make you confused anymore. You will learn all about it step by step if you, of course stay with us here for a long period of time. I suggest to you to only check out those that I mentioned to you in this reply. However, if you click to any other link that you see around I'm sure that you can't go wrong about it, it will just take you to different places on the site and who knows, maybe you find something that you like
