Welcome to WDC! I have been with the group for a little over a year and really love the site. There is so much to do. There are contests and activities galore! I got back into writing full time about 3 years ago. I belong to two outside (of this online) groups, so I get lots of feedback from a variety of sources. But this place has helped me define what it is that I like the most in the writing life.
I was never much for poetry, but started dabbling in it in one of the groups and found that there are a few contests here on WDC that I enjoy alot. If you like poetry try, Poetic Traditions Poetry Contest and Shadows and Light Poetry Contest.
I also enjoy writing for children. My married adult children are contemplating children of their own and I would love to be able to read some of my stories to my grandkids! There is The Littlest Poetry Contest and for the prose end, We Write for Kids Contest.
