A month-long novel-planning challenge with prizes galore. |
Having a conversation with Mumsy that I thought was worth sharing. Weaknesses are hard. It's hard to admit your own weaknesses, and hard to identify them in your characters because they're like your babies, your children. Strengths tend to be easier to admit. But the truth is, the trait that is our strength is often also our weakness. Here are some examples, but feel free to piggyback and offer more suggestions: Strong = capable of hurting others Gentle = weak, non-confrontational, lets injustice go unchecked Intelligent = talks over people, offending and alienating them Loves intellectual challenge = easily bored Grounded = little patience for the lofty dreams and goals of others Humble = low confidence Makes others feel important = low self esteem Organized = worrywart Gets things done = pushy and demanding Perfectionist = fear of failure Cheers, Michelle |
