October Novel Prep Challenge

Gah! Names!

Without going into too many details, my story takes place in the far future. Names evolve over time. I don't want the story filled with people's names from the 21st century, and I didn't want "classic" names, and I'm trying to avoid "fantasy" names, so none of the usual random generators works for me this time.

Sometimes I can just take a common name and switch out letters, or rearrange them. Steven can morph into Staven, for example. But that's work, and I'm allergic to work. I think I've just broken out in hives.

Anyway, to be perfectly honest, most of the characters came from last year's NaNo - I'll be reusing most of them, after all. But I neglected to add them to the database last year, so it's mostly new work - no cheating here.

I intend to do more on this as this year's story evolves, and this time I'm going to remember to add characters to the database as I come up with them.

Yeah... sure I am.
