One difficulty I can see right away is that such a template might be limiting. Fantasy worlds can be, well, fantasy-like, and not as subject to templating. Pratchett's Discworld, for instance. Even in the realm of science fiction, you have Dyson spheres, Ringworlds, and enormous interstellar ship-worlds.
But then, not all characters are human, and still you have to start somewhere.
Now if I can only restrain myself from making the first thing on the template something like "Cosmological Constant for your universe:"
