I FIGURED IT OUT!!!
YIPEE! I figured it out...as I previously announced in the title. lol I was torn between my MC either being so seriously depressed she didn't care about the antagonist or being angry with him. Ideally I wanted her to feel both. Last night, while yet again, not being able to sleep, I figured it out! If she starts depressed, then he hits her, she can naturally get angry. PERFECT! And, even better, it still sounds legit in the light of day...unlike some other ideas I've had... *Think* lol
