Char, people like you used to scare me because abusive relationships usually began with the man showing and verbalizing love right away. They would move quickly, then change once I expressed it back. Though, I have learned this is not necessarily true about everyone who expresses love quickly. Some people go the other way, not protecting their heart, which leaves them vulnerable towards getting hurt more.
Actually, my best friend is a man that I dumped after he scared me by telling me he loved me after the second week. We were friends for a few years before, then became intimate. So, in his defence, it is understandable because his emotions grew during that friendship. He has moved on to other relationships, but we are still good friends.
