Definitely true. I don't really have an emotional reasons for my personal beliefs or decisions or etc. Something like, say... getting married. I'm married for 100% practical reasons... it was the fastest and easiest way to ensure that my boyfriend could make medical decisions on my behalf. I looked into all of the options (power of attorney, etc), but marriage was the fastest and cheapest. Done.
Until there was a logical reason, why would we have gotten married? We can spend our lives together without being married. We intended to do just that. But if we decided to go our own ways, it would have been easier without the necessity of divorce. Less fuss. So, there was actually a solid reason to not get married. Who needs the hassle? And for what?
It is what it is. I don't generally view being "cold" as a bad thing. It keeps me highly functional and productive. The only drawback in my view is that I don't understand the depth of other people's emotional lives. It's just... foreign to me. And somewhat uncomfortable as well.
