A support forum for writers dealing with mental illness |
Wow! You do know research! I am glad I was pointed toward you. I realize research with children would require the full IRB review. The way my program is structured, we submit our IRB application by the end of April. The expectation/hope is approval by August, September. Then I need to be able to do my research (limited to 4-5 weeks data collection) in the fall term and pull it all together to submit the thesis by December 1. Does that seem reasonable? I thought it did... My internship is at the therapeutic riding center. I am an art therapy intern. I was drawn to this site because of the presence of therapeutic riding, and my personal question is how might these therapies complement each other leading to greater benefits for the individuals? The question would be to find the problem which may be partially met by therapeutic riding, but is enhanced perhaps by art therapy. It feels broad, yet I hang on to the desire to incorporate both... An easier approach could be to simply focus on art therapy with the children with Autism, and not include the therapeutic riding. Is there a place to indicate the effect of this setting: a riding barn, as opposed to a school, or mental health clinic? I am beginning this lit review in earnest tonight. I will begin with art therapy and autism, Thank you for the great detail on lit search. I will follow your suggestions. Pronto! Thank you, Thank you! Deb |
