Good points, Rachel. It's good that you don't experience stigma after violent events, but with your location and everything, it would be kind of weird if you did. I agree that the government shaming mental illness is, well, shameful. I can definitely see people not seeking help if they think the government is going to put them on a list somewhere and carefully watch them after.
