Answers to questions

What does your self-care ritual look like? What are your coping habits? What has worked for you? What hasn't? How do you get through the day?

I wanted to take time to answer these questions because they are good and give me pause to think of how to do better. First, my self-care ritual is taking time each day to read the Bible and pray, take a break in the afternoon to rest and take walks throughout the day.

My coping habits are few and perhaps not effective. One thing I do to cope is take deep breaths when I feel anxious or worried--at the same time I focus on God and his help. I also talk with my husband about what bothers me and when possible, dine out with my husband, where we talk about life in general.

Communicating with God, my husband helps the most. Worrying does nothing except make everything worse. I get through the day with God's love and support, the same from my husband and keeping a journal of my successes and where I need to do better.
