Re: Re: Re: TotW 4th - 11th of March
when has your mental health been at its best? - I'm at my best when I've let go my worries and "let God", as it were. I love to sing and my mental health is best when I'm in an artistic phase. Writing, Singing, Drawing. I think God is with me then, no worries to trouble me.

When has your mental health been at its worst? - When I'm around negative people or around "trouble" in general. I don't like confrontations. Sometimes a "bad" mood just hits me (don't know why) and I feel really down and can't get out of my funk. Not even funny cat videos can lift my mood. So I have to write it out. (if I can)

What caused these highs and lows? - With highs, it's easy. When I'm with people who are fun to be with, it lifts my mood. Or if I'm out and about - with people, it lifts my mood. But if I'd been in a bad mood beforehand, it can quickly return once I'm away from people. And what causes the lows is something more in-distinctive. It can be anything...my upstairs neighbor's kids jumping up and down (now I live underneath a trampoline). A sad note from a friend. An angry call from my mother. In truth, none of these I should worry about nor care about; but still, it puts me in a foul mood.

Have you noticed any trends in the state of your mental health? - if I take my medicine and don't get too riled at my neighbors (*Smile*), well. I pretty much stay on an even keel. When I write poetry, it helps me cope with my varying moods more. And when I pray, I remember God is in control of my life.

How do you use the history of your mental health to get yourself through lows and maintain highs? - I remember not to get angry because it's not the person I want to be. I remember it accomplishes nothing. I don't know if I can ever maintain highs but I can certainly get myself through the lows by continuing to write my poetry and pray.
