Replying to myself, both to add a separate idea and to bump this thread to the top.

Another idea I've had: Start up a new interactive, an edited and slimmed-down version of BoM. The old interactive has a lot of dangly bits—

Okay, almost every bit is a dangly bit because there are very few real endings in BoM. But there are some that don't even dangle. They take an interesting twist, and then just stop because I (or another author) just got stuck for how to continue them, or lost interest.

So one thing I could do is slowly copy some of the better, more popular, more "complete and rounded off" branches into an edited, lite version of BoM. New readers could be gently redirected to the lite version; each migrated storyline, as it is copied into the lite version, could be posted for awhile as a non-interactive book accessible to non-WdC members.

The original BoM would remain in place and active, the breeding ground for new ideas and storylines. The lite version would be like a curated "best of" version.

As above, we'd have not just discussion of which storylines to copy off, but vote to prioritize them.
