Topic of the week Memoirs
by Sumojo Author IconMail Icon

Memoirs aren’t my go to read, I must confess. I have read a few in my time though. One was by an Australian Rock Band singer. He now sings with his daughter in a new band. His name is Jimmy Barnes and although he certainly wasn’t my favourite singer by any means, with his loud screaming voice, reading about his life has given me a new respect for the guy. So maybe there is a place for the memoir.
I must admit I wrote my life story for my family. I called it “ Always look on the bright side of life.” I enjoyed writing it, it seemed to make my life make sense as I wrote it in a linear fashion. I think it should be something everyone should have a crack at sometime in their life. Purely by putting down events, what happened next, is helpful, it makes one see that their lives have been full, whether of good stuff or bad, it really happened. I don’t think any of my family were that interested though, maybe you have to die first!
