This was my goal last week, but I couldn't get it done due to work obligations and illness. Now I'm going to try this again, but this time, I've refined the goal.
My novel has nine major characters. For this week, I want to define each character's philosophy, in the form of a four-sentence creed for each character. The characters will have their own unique creeds from which the characters draw their motivations and through which they see the world.
The creeds will not be explicitly identified in the novel, but the reader should be able to piece together the basic gist of each creed - at least, assuming I've written the novel properly.
This should help me tell a better story, because I will have a better understanding of how each character would react to a given situation. To the extent they act against their creeds, I will need to provide a convincing reason why.
