The site has gone through a lot of changes since you first joined, but I am sure many things are still recognizable.

Editing is a big part of writing, and you can edit your writing as much and as often as you would like. The only exception might be if you have a piece entered in a contest, but every contest has its own rule about that.

Speaking of contests, you might want to take a look at this. There are usually somewhere around 40-50 contest actively running at any time, and here is a list:
