A warm welcome to our newbies; come meet new and not-so-new members of Writing.Com! |
Good evening one and all, I've been here for over a week now and absolutely fallen for this place. So many of you have reached out, shared such valuable feedback and pointers on how to further develop as a writer. Please pardon the late introduction, truth be known I like to get settled and then throw myself into the fray of public posting, lol. The reason I joined was to get myself motivated into writing, try to step it up, and address a long-fought issue of getting better at writing larger projects. I've never written anything over twenty thousand works and having the desire to write a novel-sized story, that's what I'm aiming to achieve. What stands in my way of that goal, I'm sure many of you can relate, the worst critic is myself. I tend to try to edit as I go, become annoyed at certain repetitions, and not commit to acknowledging the first draft is supposed to be rough. The pointers so far are starting to take effect and a boost to my writing routine is taking effect. There's a tonne to get involved in here, a lot of resources and so many knowledgeable members. Very cool stuff, indeed. Thank you once again for making me feel so welcome. It's a pleasure to have found such a warm and supportive community. I look forward to seeing you all around.
