As for me, i tend to work on Vim (vim-Pencil+vim-wordy) and like to keep it simple by using .mkd, formatting is really easy and i could make outlines and separate my thoughts with symbols. One great thing about markdown is Vim would highlight the outline with a different color, and I can also have my todo list on the same page all while keeping the file size really small and without having to manage pages. Aside from that vim as a text editor is always a big help. Easier to work with through long texts plus with the help of many plugins i could make it very robust (ms word like formatting, spell checking, repeated words check, in line grammar check), its swap feature is also great since it hides a backup every time the application crashes. Aside from all these, i like to keep my workflow clean. I know a lot of people who likes having a bunch of note widgets on screen, a separate tab for characters/scenes/props almost like they're writing a tabletop game, some uses editors that blurs out previous text and etc., heck doesn't Neil Gaiman write on his notebook? So, what's yours? |
