October Novel Prep Challenge

I just don't know if I am going about my story all wrong. The 1st 5 assignments just aren't going smoothly...as far as my story goes. I am trying to writ about a Cherokee tribal law that was abolished back in the 1800s, The Blood Law but from a fiction sort of way.

Today, though they are a sovereign nation, their hands are tied as to how harsh they can be. They do have a Federal Court, try cases from misdemeanors to violence against women but the harshest penalty they hand out is 1 yr and/or 500.00 fine per offense never to exceed 9 yrs no matter how many offences they commit.

I don't want to focus completely on the law but rather write a fiction based on "What if the Cherokee Nation had had enough of the white man's law and took matters back into their own hands by reestablishing "The Blood Law?"

The Blood Law is; If a person causes the death of another, then the family of the victim has the right to demand that the guilty person forfeit their life. If the guilty person cannot be found then some family member close to the guilty person must forfeit theirs.

I will try to get tonight's assignment done on time. I feel like I need to start over.
