That's fascinating! This Tuesday in "The UnXplained" with William Shatner, I saw an episode about impostors, and one of them was a famous jazz musician from Washington who later turned out to be a woman. She was not taken seriously by her male competitors and the labels and so without further ado cut her hair, dressed like a man, behaved like a man, even talked with a deeper voice. "He" even had several wives, who never "knew" because "he" had told them that after an accident there wasn't much ado about "his" ding dong anymore. While we're at it, I also thought for a long time that Tracy Chapman (one of my favorite musicians) was a guy. |
