That's a sensible question.

The "Write & Review" rounds were for full short stories (i.e. 2000+ words) when the prompts were originally written. The allowance for old stories was off the back of that and to encourage participation for anyone revising old items.

For the purposes of this round, it needs to be newly written text, but there's no minimum word count and the entries are expected to be scenes rather than containing a full story arc (so long as the prompt is evident and meaningful).
