Background: Hailing from the Caribbean, he was born on Haiti during a time of social unrest. An orphan at a young age, Abasi stowed away on a merchant vessel and forged a rocky path in the newly developed world. Over the course of his life, he picked up many different jobs, wearing numerous hats as he traveled from country to country. He can speak several languages, perform many tasks from carpentry, to medicine and even navigation: a jack of all trades.

Initially, Cyril hired him as a cook but quickly discovered Abasi's countless talents were wasted on that menial job. Currently he is the second in command, the bosun or boatswain.

Strengths: Stern, fearless, commanding, garners respect and treats his subordinates fairly as long as they stay in line. An endless fount of experience and has a story for nearly every occasion. Though he is known for his no nonsense approach, he cracks a smile after the work is done and things can rest easy.

Weaknesses: Strict, can be frightening if one gets on his bad side. Will disregard the opinions of others if he thinks they are inexperienced or too "green". Runs things 'by the book', inflexible, doesn't tolerate insubordination.
