I'm not sure if I should post this here or somewhere else. But anyway, my question is: How do you write out time skips within a story? And I'm not saying like next day which can easily be done as- 'The sun shone on his face as it breached between his blinds.' Or something. Like, years. Can you write a subtext between the transition such as x Years Later or something like that? Instead of being like, 'This character grew taller...etc. etc..' I guess my point is what is the best way to do this? And what would be more engaging to readers? For context, I am trying to write a novel I have been working on and developing for over 15 years. And I want to get it published eventually. I am just working on a rough draft and want opinions on this matter. If you made it through and this makes sense, thanks for taking the time to read/answer :3 |
