Truthfully I'm surprised my name would even be brought up for any other reason other than the fact I've written a decent amount for BoM. I can safely say that outside of one storyline (the volleyball one and maybe the one that ends with the Charlotte Dahl reveal) I'm never satisfied with anything I write. I might like the characters or little moments but I always find something to nitpick about the writing or plot choices that didn't occur to me until after I'd already published them.

Personally, though, I focus largely on lower stakes and more personal style high school stories simply because that's what I'm more comfortable doing. All that said, I really like the way that you've written Alex, Rae and Izzy. Behind the scenes stuff, and maybe I'd mentioned it to you once, but when coming up with them my original thought would be that one of them would be the "Guru" and it would be a fun mystery for Will and the reader to figure out which. Your decision to make it Alex, though, wound up being a good one in the end because it informed a lot about the character and how she and her relationship with her friends is written which wound up turning them into some of my favorite characters.

So basically, don't sell yourself short.
